PROTOTYPE — DUMMY FUNCTIONALITY ONLY
This is an interactive mockup demonstrating a proposed TINA feature. Trade data is based on TINA's existing methodology[7], FDI data is estimated from IMF CDIS patterns[2]. The correlation calculation and partner switching[7][2] use static sample data — not connected to any live API. ~ estimated = based on source methodology ∅ dummy = illustrative sample

Select a partner economy to compare bilateral trade and FDI correlation. Trade data from TINA[7], FDI from IMF CDIS[2].

LDC Graduation Insight

As Bangladesh loses zero-tariff access, export volumes may decline. The trade-investment correlation (0.72)[7][2] suggests this could also reduce FDI from key partners. Negotiating investment chapters in FTAs (like the BD-Japan EPA and BD-US ART) can help mitigate this by providing a separate legal basis for investment protection even if trade preferences erode.

Data Sources

TINA Trade Database ✅ Available [7]
UN COMTRADE — HS6-level bilateral trade flows
Already in TINA • Existing TINA feature
IMF CDIS Bilateral FDI ✅ CSV export [2]
2009–present, 120+ economies
World Bank WDI (GDP — for normalization) ✅ REST API
Implementation note: This feature requires minimal new development since TINA already has all the trade data[7]. Only IMF CDIS FDI data needs to be ingested[2]. The dual-axis chart is a standard Chart.js configuration already used in other TINA features[7].
